Alex Pinna was born in Imperia and now lives and works in Milan having graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Alex’s work establishes a conversational dialogue with the public, through metaphors capable of representing the world in a delicate and ironic way, without ever becoming trivial or obvious.
Inspired by the playful and imaginative universe of childhood culture, Pinna uses sculpture as a way to lighten space, which has become a dominant value in his work and is paradoxically pursued through sculptural elements.
In his works, Pinna rediscovers the elegance of figures, in the lightness of their shape as well as in the thinness of their volume. The sculptor manages to recognize in the fantastic the power of beauty and taste, translating in matter what Durand calls ''the right to luxury in fantasy'', to which nobody should renounce.
